Magnus Carlsen

Magnus is the champion of my generation. I saw him for the first time at his debut in Wijk aan Zee when he was only 13, I was in Chennai when he became the World Champion, and I've worked at many tournaments he participated in. I have seen him at his peaks and lows.

As a photographer, I am blessed with Magnus – I can completely understand why G-Star asked him to model. He has an interesting face with a lot of frown and an expressive jawline. In contrary to his colleagues, he is outspoken and uses hand gestures. His mood can change by the hour and it's a challenge to capture his eyes. There's never a dull moment when he's around.
